SLO on campus living policy for freshman?!

I’m looking into colleges right know (Specifically SLO and other CSU’s) and this question came up. I and my brother both intend to attend the same college simultaneously as incoming freshman. At the same time, my longtime girlfriend will be completing her degree and would have the ability to move in with me. We’d like to be able to rent an apartment together as by all calculations it would save everyone money right off the bat (which is all too important). However, aside from reasons in the range of pre-established living conditions in the area I’m not so sure how sympathetic SLO or any other
CSU is with it’s “Freshman On-Campus Living Exemption Policy.” and my particular scenario. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Is there a good solution? Is the school even willing to work with students in cases like these?

BUMP

You can always ask for an exemption but - if you were my kid, i’d encourage you to sign up for the dorm and bunk with whoever they assign. It is an experience you will never forget
