I’m got into both schools for a bio major. I’m planning to go to grad school for pharmacy or dental or nursing school after. I know SLO is “hands on learning” which prepares you for the work force right after undergrad and UC’s are more of research. Which do you think (in your opinion) is better to go to for undergrad with a higher chance of getting into a good grad school?

You should go to UC Riverside. I heard there Biology staff actually has a lot of really qualified profs. Also the UC name tag might boost you into med school better. All I know about Cal Poly is that they have around a 70-75% med school acceptance rate for its students trying to go off to med school.

I just made my decision to go to Cal Poly this last weekend over going to UC Berkeley and a few other UC’s. Cal Poly is a great school, but what I noticed how much of an extreme minority any ethnic groups are there. Im white, but I was almost overwhelmed at how about 19 in 20 were white.

Good Luck. UCR is by no means a bad school, but Cal Poly is much much much more prestigious.
