SLR Not Approved Yet?

Nothing yet on my D, they never asked for any follow-up info, but she did have answer yes to being out of state for more than 6 weeks, so maybe any one who isn't easy gets reviewed veeerrryyyy slowly. We've been CA residents all our lives, so I am not technically worried, but would like to see it dealt with.

twitb, tell me how calling in tomorrow goes. I tried to call in a few days ago but could not get through! I am probably going to visit Berkeley tomorrow so hopefully this will get resolved there! Same here, I do not want to pay 13,000 dollars on 15th even if they will refund the money at a later date. That is just too much to pay all at once!

I have the same problem. They are taking forever!

Okay I finally got in contact with them and I guess I made them made the decision fast. So for those of you who are still not approved by the 15th.. you only need to pay resident fee even though the statement may say that 13,000 blah blah blah is due. But the horrible thing is.. I got classified as a non resident so I made an appointment with residency so that this can get fixed!!!! So if this is something you're really worried about.. I would suggest doing that if Cal is not too far away.

Thanks for the advice. This is a nightmare

is anyone else still under review?

yes! we are, no one has asked for follow-up info on anything so I am not yet stressing it

Yes, its taking forever!

Has everything cleared up yet? I am appealinggg.. went to see the guy.. he wasn't too nice.

did he tell you why they did not approve you? waht do you have to do to prove your case?

He did not approve me because from the information that I provided, he wasn't sure if my parents are residents because my parents sometimes works abroad. So.. basically he said that he denied us instead of asking for further info so that we may clear it up with the appeal office ourselves. I think he thinks he is somehow doing us a favor and speeds up the process but I think it is even more of a hassle this way. I would have rather him asked us or further info so that we could clarify.

i emailed them about my SLR and here is what they said

Your residency for Fall 2005 is still in the process of being evaluated, and we are making every effort to complete it by the August 15 fee payment deadline. While in this status, your billing statement will reflect nonresident fees. If your residency determination is not made by the fee payment deadline, you have the option of paying fees as billed (either in full or the first installment); if you are later determined to be a resident, you will receive a refund of any overpayments made. Or, if you wish, you can deduct the nonresident portion from your total assessed fees and pay the difference; note, however, that you must elect the Deferred Payment Plan option ($40 fee) to do this. If you are subsequently classified as a resident, the $40 fee will be waived; if you are classified as a nonresident, the remaining nonresident fees will be due by the next fee payment deadline and the $40 fee stands. If we require further documentation, we will inform you.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to write us again. Thanks for writing the Office of the Registrar.

Ah.. I didn't do the deferred Payment Plan.. all they told me to do was pay the resident registration fees.. and I already paid?? SO I can't really change that now? I hope it's okay.. :/

Still waiting for my resident status to be determined... guess I should've gone to NYU for free........

still waiting here, too, lifelong CA residents, so we're not stressing too mcuh, but it makes you wonder what's going on. No one has asked us any questions, so it must be just in a pile somewhere.

Still waiting here. I have been a resident of california for 16 years.
