My S is a sophmore and thinking about applying to SLS for next summer. Just wondering if he is on track and how important being involved with sports are.

He is an Eagle Scout, OA Chapter Chief( will probably be Lodge Chief next year, this is a very big job that is usually held by an adult), beach lifeguard ( also very hard to achieve, it is very rigorous), volunteers up in the local mountains on their search and rescue team, got his Emergency Response last summer, is getting his rescue scuba cert. and Wilderness First Responder this summer. Also volunteers at the hospital, and has overall more than 1000 volunteer hours. As far as sports go he participates on his schools swim team. He does well but is not Varsity yet. Will they overlook his lacking sports participation for all of his leadership?

He scored almost a 2200 on his 10th grade PSAT. He attends a top 50 college prep school, takes hard classes, but only has about a 3.4 GPA so far. I think this will go up next year when he takes a few AP's.
