SLS Stats -- I applied today

<p>Hey guys, I applied to SLS today, as I knew sooner was better than later. I am just curious to know the stats of others applying and if you think I might make it this summer. Here are my stats:</p>

<p>4.0 GPA / nonweighted 4.0 scale
98.417 numerical average unweighted
Ranked 2 out of 299 in my class
3 AP courses, 6 gifted courses, 3.5 years foreign language
7 Varsity Letters (2 football, 2 swimming, 3 soccer)
1 year team captain swimming
Class president freshman year
National Honor Society
French Honor Society
PSAT: 70 math, 49 critical reading, 62 writing skills</p>

<p>I'd say, Welcome to Summer Leadership Seminar. :)</p>

<p>Really though, you look great. Just my opinion. The only thing I would work on is a tad more leadership, but everything else looks AWESOME. Keep it up and I'd bet that you'll get an early offer of appointment next year.</p>

1400 SAT, 34 ACT
3.83? unweighted gpa, small school that doesn't rank
3 APs junior year
varsity track and XC for 3 years (due to small team size, not any particular excellence)
CFA: everything a little above avg. exscept for pushups, which were lower
ECs: I put a ton of crap down, and USMA summarized it as this:
Foreign Study One Month or More
Newspaper Editor-in-Chief
Newspaper Writer/Reporter/Staff
National or State Academic/Science Award =variety of bootleg stuff like national merit commendation or the college board award for simnply taking 3 AP exams
Other Scholastic Awards
School Club President
got noms from senator and congresswoman</p>

<p>I know its amazing isn't it! I really have problems reading lol. Just kidding. I guess I just wasn't there during the english portion of the PSAT. Good thing my dad bought be a HUGE book to practice before I take the real SAT!</p>

<p>Hey guys, I just received a rather large packet in the mail today confirming that I have been selected to attend USMA SLS 2007. I am really excited!</p>

<p>I was wondering, do the juniors that make it to SLS usually end up making it to the point if they keep up the hard work?</p>

<p>Turbotw - Now the fun part starts! What really gets a lot of people (at least from my friends from SLS) is the medical part. Make sure as soon as you can, take that DODMERB exam and work out any possible kinks.</p>

<p>I don't think you actually have to have the DODMERB exam for SLS, just this medical release/waiver thingy that they sent.</p>

<p>But I am going to take the thing soon to hurry up and get it over with!</p>

<p>Nope don't need it for SLS - but I got my medical exam like a week after air force SLS (about 20 June). I had a slight bump, but got it fixed around August. I'm glad I got it early. I have a lot of friends from SLS still struggling with it because they waited so long to schedule an appointment.</p>

<p>When could you start applying for SLS? I'm planning on applying for AF Summer Seminar and I can't start applying until 1 Jan.</p>
