Hello fellow academy seekers!
I applied to West Point's summer seminar (SLS) the first weekend it was released, and now, almost two months later, I have received no reply from West Point. I know my SAT/ACT/PSAT scores were only average and my application was probably not the superstar status that West Point was looking for (but hopefully it will be after retaking test), and was wondering if it is safe to say that I will not be getting into the seminar? Also, do you guys have any recommendations for somebody/somewhere that I could go to to analyze and evaluate the application I sent in?

If you look on their home page and go onto the SLE section, it reads:

“SLE Announcement: Due to federal budget reductions, Admissions staff is planning on holding Summer 2013 SLE, however the session sizes may be reduced. Due to this ongoing planning, SLE offer windows will be slightly later. The offer rounds will now be 1 March and 1 April. After April 1st, it will be on a space available basis to competitive qualified candidates.”

I know, it’s unfortunate that it keeps delaying. This may be a rumor, but I heard they may be even cancelling it completely due to federal budget cuts. Not too sure about that, but I’m in the same boat as you. I’m so anxious to hear back.

I believe the latest news is that there may only be 1 session (session 1) and notifications will begin this week. In addition, all will be notified if it is cancelled fully.
Yes…the waiting game!

One of ours is hoping not to have to pay and commit to SLE before hearing from NASS so that an informed decision can be make. USAFA ss money is due now that will be paid. With scheduling, probably can only go to one more so knowing about NASS sooner rather than later would be good!
