Despite telling myself not to re-read my college essays once they were submitted, I read over my Haverford supplement essay. Unfortunately, I came across a tiny grammatical error. In the second to last sentence I said “interest” when the correct word should have been “interests.” I know that this is a really small error, but will it have any real impact on my application? Thanks.
No, you’re fine. What kind of people would reject an applicant–who put in four years of work and spent money to apply to their school–over a missing letter? Admissions officers are human too.
Don’t give it a second thought. It’s too small to be an issue, that’s even if it gets noticed which it probably won’t. Our minds tend to read what we think should be there. Good luck!
Right. Can you imagine what it would suggest about a college if they rejected applicants for a few typos?
