SMC -> Columbia/UCB/UCLA Help (Econ)

Hi everyone!
I’m a high school student that just enrolled into Santa Monica College, and I just had a few questions about transferring to Columbia with an Economics major or possibly an Econ/Political Science Double major or minor
.

According to the requirements, I need to take no more than 2 math courses outside of Columbia, along with no more than 2 courses in Poli Sci.

1.) I’m currently enrolled in pre-calculus and I am planning on enrolling in two more calculus courses in order to satisfy the requirements for UCLA and UCB. Would that be a problem with transferring to Columbia?

2.) I’m also planning on enrolling in 3 Political Science courses in order to again satisfy the requirements of UCLA/UCB, but one of the courses is also a philosophy course. (Political Science 54 = Philosophy 54 = Political Philosophy) Is it possible to keep it as it is and apply to Columbia, or to change it to a philosophy course and still apply to UCB/UCLA?

3.) And finally, if I want to transfer statistics, the class MUST have a Calculus Prerequisite. The statistics class I’m planning to enroll in doesn’t have one, and there isn’t a course that satisfies this requirement. Any recommendations on what should I do?

I’ve been dreaming about studying in Columbia, so any help at all would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like math and political science on that page refer to sub areas or joint programs, and the transfer course limit refers to economics courses. Contact the department to ask your specific question.

Few CCs offer calculus based statistics courses. Most transfers who need that have to take it after transfer.

Math through calculus 3 is desirable for economics majors.

If you are a HS student, why are you looking to transfer rather than applying as a HS grad?
