SMC to UCLA in 1 year?

Hi! I currently attend SMC and applied to transfer to UCLA. I will have exactly 60 units at the end of this semester (26 units of AP credit).

My questions are:

  1. If I have the option to take one additional class so that I have 63 units (scholars class more specifically) would that help my chances? I wrote it down on my app, but I still have the option to take it out and since I don’t need the class for IGETC, my major, or to get the minimum 60 units would it help at all to take it? (Or hurt me to drop it?)

  2. Do you think I will be accepted with a 3.8 gpa (I’m in scholars and a psych major)?
