<p>I was accepted to both Ursinus and St. Mary's college of Maryland. Ursinus gave my 20k in merit grant and 6k in financial grant. SMCM gave me 3k in merit grant and 5k in financial grant. SMCM is public so it starts around 34k for out of state whereas Ursinus is 47k. Any opinions?</p>

<p>I have the impression that SMCM might be a somewhat more intellectually enriching experience, although Ursinus apparently has good acceptance rates to med school and law school and the stats of the student body are very close. I’ve heard that St Mary’s campus is beautiful. Have you compared the course listings in departments that interest you, and the faculty too? Sounds like you need to visit, preferably over night.</p>
<p>Oh, and on the merit grants, check carefully about what GPA is required to maintain them.</p>
