Where do you want to work after graduation? What major?
I wasn’t aware of the Fisher and Gatton School locations. I know Krannert for operations research and supply chain management. Same for Michigan State. For access to NYC, Smeal has a bit better chance of the four. I imagine Fisher would be fine with good access to jobs throughout the Midwest. Big alumni network.
Penn State, Ohio State, & Purdue are about the same quality while Kentucky Gatton is not considered to be a top business school. However, a clear order may appear if you have a definite specialty course of study or career plan.
For example:
Ohio State is well respected for Accounting & Supply Chain Management & Operations Mgmt/Logistics.
Penn State for Supply Chain Management/Logistics & Insurance/Risk Mgmt.
Purdue is also strong in Supply Chain Mgmt. & Logistics.
I am not familiar with Kentucky Gatton, but it may be a good choice if you get resident tuition & plan to remain in Kentucky after graduation.
You said that so much more professionally than I did. Seriously, one of my pet peeves is how schools are trying to brand specific colleges within schools. I really only knew one of those, which says something about how well the marketing efforts are going.
True on the $$. I just don’t believe that a school can be second tier, but have 4 colleges of their 9 in the top 20. Does not add up for me. That is why I choose the university first.
