Smith Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP) 2015

Hi,
I was recently accepted into SSEP, and wanted to see if anyone else was planning to attend this summer or if anyone that has gone in the past could share a little bit more about the program. I’m still deciding on whether or not to go (because I need to hear back from a few other programs), so any information would be great

Hi! I just got accepted into SSEP as well! I did apply to one other place, which I got into, but I think I’m going to this one since I don’t have as much out-of-school science enrichment compared to other subjects.

@jugglingowl Congrats! I might attend as well, as I’ve been getting a pretty steady stream of waitlist emails from the others programs I applied to. Just out of curiosity though, do you know how selective this program is? I think it looks really cool, but it’s still pretty pricey.

I just got accepted as well, but I am waiting on another program. Also, I have to fulfill visual arts credits to graduate from high school, so I might be doing that instead this summer.

Hi everyone! I was accepted to SSEP but I’m waiting on decisions from at least two other summer science programs (MIT WTP, SSP). TBH I’m not sure if the program is as intensive and challenging as the other one’s I’m looking into. I’d love to hear from past SSEPers about this. Also, does anyone know their admission rates?

@violaqueen All I know about SSEP’s acceptance rate is that on their website it says that they receive 3 to 4 times the number of applications than spots available.

@kitkat231 Thanks for the info! And I know SSEP’s expensive, did you apply for financial aid?

@violaqueen I hadn’t applied for any financial aid, and even though it is quite pricy most summer camps are more expensive ($10,000+ for Harvard SSP? No thank you)
