Smith transfer hopeful

Hi,
I applied to Smith College last year as a first-year, was waitlisted and then rejected.
I think a big difference between my application last year was the GPA and transcript - my GPA in high school was a 3.2 and now in college (so far) it is a 3.7. I know that this will make a big difference but I keep hearing from the Smith admissions people that the #1 thing they look at is the transcript. My problem is that I only have ONE quarter's worth for a transcript, as opposed to a year (but I am applying as a Sept. transfer; I have enough credits to apply). I don't know if this will put me at a disadvantage or not. I'm hoping not.
My ACT score was the Smith average - 27 (great English score, amusingly bad math score...I have to have a sense of humor about it).
The transfer pool is such a different ball game in comparison to the first-year pool. I think I have a chance but I'm not sure if my application is leaning more towards an acceptance or a rejection.
