Hi, I am really worried about this deadline I just discovered on the Haverford website. Can we not apply for fin aid if we didn't register with CB by January 1???

Register with the College Board for the 2006-2007 Profile Application (see below) with Haverford's Profile Code (2289) by January 1

Submit the 2006-2007 Profile Application to the College Board with Haverford College's Profile Code (2289) by January 31

Please help, I am sooo worried! Thank you!

Anyone??? Can I not apply for financial aid anymore?

As I have 2 research proposals and a manuscript to submit, I should seriously not be on this site and procrastinating, but I found your posts so sad and desperate...

I can't speak for the financial aid office, but IF the program you are referring to is HC based, I'd be very surprised if you are eliminated from financial aid consideration cause you're late by a few days... after all, HC's need blind admission policy is to allow all qualified applicants to attend HC despite finances. I think it would be un-haverfordian to shut you out like that. I'd call the admissions/financial aid office ASAP and explain the situation and I'm sure they will work things out with you (make sure you speak with an actual officer)... after all, they will probably be processing these applications for the next month or so and what's it to them if your folder is on some pile collecting dust during that time or not?

As an example of HC understanding, financial generosity and quaker roots, there is a well known story of Howard Lutnick who graduated from HC in the early 1980's. Sadly, his mom passed away when he was in high school and his father died when Mr. Lutnick was in his 1st few weeks as a freshman. From what I understand, the president of HC met him and told him that his expenses would be cared for and that he didn't have to worry about that issue. Subsequently, he became the CEO of Cantor-Fitzgerald (the one sadly tied with 9/11) and has become one of HC strongest advocates and has given selflessly both time and money. Also, HC enrolled 3-5 students from Xavier/Tulane last semester after Katrina and had directed the tuition money paid back to those universities for rebuilding purposes.

So, I think they would be understanding

Thank you for noting my desperate tone, HC alum! Best of luck with all your work...

Does anyone else think that it is necessary to call HC or would this just draw attn to my error? Will they even know when I registered?
