Is it likely that UVA will have a snow day tomorrow and cancel classes? Weather forecasts are saying 20-28 inches of snow will eventually accumulate and the snow will start at about dawn.

I live at Hereford and the buses always take a detour and skip us whenever there is 'inclement weather' and it would really have to suck to walk to Wilson Hall and McLeod Hall in the morning and afternoon respectively, and then walk back to Hereford :S

An email went out about an hour ago. We will be closed and classes are canceled. Essential staff will be on Grounds (facilities, dining, housing, ITC, etc.). The Medical Center never closes, obviously. Updates are posted on the main website. Click on “Inclement Weather Schedule”. You can also call 243-SNOW.

Dining Services has ordered extra food just in case we really get snowed in.

Keep in mind that many departments are putting people on 12 hour shifts…might want to say thanks to the crews that are keeping us all safe and warm. :)

Where was all this snow when I was an undergrad? Normally this part of PA gets hammered once or twice a year, but not this year…it’s all in the DC Metro/VA areas.
