Snow for FSU Preview Friday, 2-11-2010

My sister is going to the FSU Freshman Preview tomorrow. She's never seen snow before, but she might see some tomorrow at FSU for first time! I'm going to tell her to bring her camera.

FSU Meteorology's weather forecast: FSU Meteorology Home Page - Florida State University Meteorology Department

Yup, maybe a couple of flakes during the early evening, I’ll be at work (in a beautiful historic building with a nice glass storefront) to watch it!

Though there is only a 20% chance, it will be raining the majority of the daytime though.

When I attended in the 1970s we had enough snow one time to build small snow men. Rare, but it can happen. Snow flurries are not too uncommon.

It also snowed Christmas weekend 1989. We drove through Tallahassee going from Deltona to Panama City. Stopped at one of the McDonald’s for a quick break and watched the snow. It was so bad that I-10 was shut down, due to the ice. We took the back roads from Tally to P.C. and a 2 1/2 hour trip took us around 5 hours!! I was able to make a snow angel in Panama City…of course you could see the grass where I laid down, but the thought was there. LOL

Do they turn the heater on at the dorms?

Of course. They haven’t let students freeze to death for a couple months now…
:D

Yeah, the dorms stay at about 70-72 at all times (at least according to my thermostat)

how cold is it generally in FSU during winter?
Im from PennState thinking about transferring to FSU.

Its really not that bad, especially coming from penn state i’m sure!

The lowest it’s been here was 19* one morning this semester, usually fall semester is warm and it is cold during winter break and spring, but never unbearable or even uncomfortable.

It’s warming up around now too, its 65* outside right now
