It seems like a very early move in day, especially since the classes don't start till August 28th. What do we do during the 6 days? Especially like that first weekend?

Or is it that August 22nd is the day the dorms are open and I can move in whenever I want to before August 28th?

And um I asked this before but just for clarification, is there someway I can know what a townhouse consists of? Like the size of the bed (for like what size sheets to buy, etc.)?

Better yet, is there some sort of open house I could see when I visit next week?

You should move in on the 22nd. There are many activities planned for freshman including advisor meetings, course registration, summer reading panel and many social events. Every day of orientation is packed with events and you shouldn't miss it.

Technically...the dorms aren't open to visitors during the summer. But...when I was walking around campus over the summer before I entered, I happened to run into the RHD of the Transfer Center and he gave me a tour.

For many people, orientation is one of the most exciting weeks of college. You will be meeting new people and getting adjusted to your surroundings, and should move in on the 22nd to take full advantage of what Cornell has to offer you. They say that the beds are extra long, but I have not had a problem fitting regular twin-sized sheets, which I think are more common than the extra longs.
