Just wondering.

No. Admission is NOT a skinny envelope.

They have lots of forms, making them large and heavy.

And a t-shirt?

The admit envelope is a large one with a folder inside; the defer/reject envelope is a standard #10.

Two years ago someone on the old forum set up a webcam in his mailbox that he could check from school. He even posted a picture of the envelope sitting in his mailbox on a separate site. http://tjhsst.edu/~jgrafton/mitcam/
Seems like just the thing MIT would appreciate.

My son got a 10% off Coop coupon in the envelope. You can at least get a t-shirt at a discount!

Good luck everyone.

I'd intercept if from the post office :-).

For the record, admitted students will not receive a skinny envelope.

But man. Pulling those pretty yellow letters out of the mailbox was the best thing in a long time. (My acceptance letter for 09 looked like those pictures)

haha, that mit cam is such a good idea (if you get in, that is)

Actually, the EA admit letters don't have any forms at all and are actually rather light. You won't get any of the cool forms for a few months, at least. You won't even get a form allowing you to accept your place in the incoming class until after RD admits are done. That's how it was last year, anyway. But the admit envelope is indeed a much larger envelope.

oo man.

i hope i get accepted

I went to Jeff Grafton's school, and was in band and marching band with him for 3 years :) He was a totally wicked smart dude. big computer systems guy. He busted my bf for posting south park episodes on his school website :D I think he ended up going to carnegie mellon.
