So at this point can we assume that if we haven't heard ANYTHING we've been rejected?

i can see it now...

gotcha! nyu isnt really a university, it was all just a really elaborate hoax!

ba-dum ching!

lol, that would be pretty funny...especially since so many people applied.

/already go there haha

maybe NYU has been sending out all this stuff to see the NYU CC page light up like the fourth of july

exactly. i KNOW it. i'm sure suicide rates would increase logarithmically, if that were the case :)

at least we all have a sense of humor about it! lol

I was really worried when I read this thread because I hadn't gotten anything, but then I checked and my mom had already taken my Sunday in the Square invitation, opened it, never told me about it, and stuffed it into some corner.

When I found it I was estatic

wow congrats!!!

Sogui, that sounds like something my mother would do.

I haven't heard from them yet either and im really getting scared n sad... i called the office and the lady said the final decisions will be sent out on or around April 1st. i asked her if the open house invitations meant anything and she said not necessarily... help!

I don't think that no invite means no acceptance--the "campus" can't physically hold 12000 students. While you may not be a TOP applicant, you still have a chance, I'm sure!

Ya, you're right... :-)
I found this on the NYU site:

First, our admissions process continues through the end of March. While we are in the process of finalizing decisions, we must also begin mailing program invitations so that families can make necessary travel arrangements. However, at this time we are still actively reviewing applicants and making admissions decisions. As such, not receiving an invitation is in no way an indication of an admissions decision. All applicants will receive official notification on or around April 1st.

Additionally, we always must be mindful of our space limitations on campus. While some of our applicants have been invited to some of our programs, it is not possible for us to invite all of our applicants to all of our programs.

ALSO

thats good to hear!

I am so confused. I did NOT get a letter inviting me to University Day or anything of that sort. I have not heard anything since NYU sent me booklets and such earlier in the year...

Does this mean I'm rejected? Or not?

I know if you got a letter you're def. in, but if you didn't are you def. out? Someone please tell me!!!

read ALL THE POSTS! We've just clarified!

Haha, yeah. I just read the two above.

I'm so nervous though! I want to go to school in the city and I got rejected from Barnard today. NYU is my last shot...I really hope I get in...ugh...knowing I didn't get one of these invatations which means I probably didn't get accepted (I submitted my application really early so I'm sure they've reviewed it by now...) blah!!

I got rejected from Barnard too (today)! But I also got into GSP at NYU :) have hope. ok?

I got rejected from Barnard, too!
But I messed up that application....
Thank God I didn't mess up my NYU application....

But, yeah, just because you didn't get anything doesn't mean that you've been rejected. Don't loose hope!

has anyone heard from Stearn yet?

crap, spelled it wrong, Stern
