Tell me if this equation pans out.

Student from NYC + applying to the College of Arts and Sciences + No letter + No e-mail + No contact of any kind from NYU by March 25th = Rejection?

no..not really. why not contact them and ask them when the response is coming? You never know if you got rejected or not. maybe you did maybe not. just call nyu and tell them that you're concerned since u've heard nothing so far.
BEST OF LUCK!!

Its all speculation. I think the only way you can be sure that you have been accepted is if you have a Sunday at the Square or University Day invite.

i know how you feel!

its the worst when you hear all these people getting emails/invites and you check and get nothing. :(

April 1st will be a terrible day for me.

is the NYU letter supposed to arrive on Apr 1st?

It could get to you a little bit before that, say, march 29th or 30th.

well a certain day surrounding April 1st will be a terrible day for me...

so no one knows when they're sending decisions out?

i guess we can all assume Monday then.

i got loads of info yesterday--it doesnt NOT mean at ALL that youve been rejected!

here are some numbers:
total applications to NYU: 35,000+
CAS apps: 25,00+
CAS acceptances: in the 4000 ballpark

which means over 21,000 rejection letters (or as one adcmon put it "offers of denial") are being mailed.

you will know on the first of april. period. anything before-hand is either a-youre a top applicant, b-youre staying informed about NYU, c-coincidence. i wouldnt worry if youve gotten nothing.

extenuating circumstances aside, expect a letter on or before saturday. theyre in the bait of mailing out letters NOW to make sure you'll have them by april 1. they want to give you all of april to decide if youre going to attend or not (gotta pay by may 1)

Last year NYU had 35000 applications, 12000 acceptances and 4000 enrollment. Are you confusing acceptances and enrollment?

i think he meant the 4000 as the amount of CAS ppl accepted. not the total amount.

It's not April 1st yet, everyone still has a chance.

4000 is approx. the number that end up going, though. I believe that about 12000 are actually accepted.

he's talking JUST about cas, guys. he said 4,000 CAS applicants are accepted each year. less than that end up going. schoolwide, yeah, about 4,250 end up enrolling at nyu, but just at cas, that number would be quite smaller (there are about 6,500 students total at cas at any given time...this is including all 4 grade levels)

But I am accepted since I got a university day thing, cas email, and scholarship letter, right?

I would assume so...

No, they do that to mess with your head ^_^

dont know if the email meant anything. the scholarship letter might have, but the university day invite definitely means acceptance

That would really suck...

They might...if decisions come out April Fools, this could all be a joke.
