GPA: 3.94 (weighted, 4 for College Preparatory and 5 for honors)
Class Rank: 40/320
SAT (CR/Math/Writing): 700/750/640
ACT: 31
Math II: 800
U.S. History: 650

AP Classes (my school only offers 6, and it's only possible to take 4):
- AP U.S. History
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Calculus

I know my class rank is going to be the biggest turnoff for the admissions office. However, my grades and the difficulty of my classes have increased drastically since my freshman year, which is supposedly something that colleges look for.

School activites:
Varsity Golf (9-12)
Varsity Track (9-12)
Math Team (12)

Community service:
Secretary for a town board
Designed and carried out a project to build bridges on public land. Got a bunch of funding and sent in some newspaper articles with my app.

My essay was well-written and about a good subject, but I'm afraid that it might have been a bit dull and long.

My interviewer really liked me, and we just talked about the school for an hour. I think I managed to leave the impression that I'm really hoping to get in.

I second slipper. Missing the top 10% of your class will probably hurt you. It looks like you have a passion for sports, and maybe that could help you get in a bit. Good luck, and I'm sure you'll be happy at whatever college you end up at.

personally, comparing people who got into dartmouth to you,
i think your gpa and rank are in the low side for Dartmouth.
but you never know, good luck!

OMG. I know the feeling. I applied to Dartmouth too. Surprisingly, I didn't even plan to apply to the school, but after researching the school, it's become my first choice (even over Yale).

I think you're lacking a little bit with your EC's- you don't show that great of a range. If your essay was good enough, you stand a good chance. Your US History score is also a bit low. To be honest, here, you don't seem very strong, but like hkkxp, you never truly know. Good luck. :)

Are you an URM? If you are a white Caucasian male, I think your outlook is a little grimmer, Caucasian female, a little bit less grim. Sorry to say, but after seeing three kids and their friends thru the process, that's the way it is.
