I did...too much drinking and Domino's and too little exercise. Time to lose it...

i lost weight my first quarter/year. i gained weight this quarter though. lol. i’m a third year and one of my housemates is 21 so we get a lot of beer.

Lost weight if anything, stuck at around 6% body fat despite binge drinking(2-4 nights a week, ranging from 5 shots to killing entire fifths) and a diet that consisted of McDonald’s/Asian food twice a day and a somewhat healthy breakfast.

Go work out, unless you have some kind of health issue weight gain should only come from bulking up on muscle.

Lost weight. Not so much from exercising though…more so from fasting. :

I lost weight my first semester, but ended up putting on a LOT my 2nd semester freshmen year.

I gained a few pounds my first semester. Gained some second semester and over summer, too. I lost 25 pounds this semester though, so I’m below where I started :)

I have to cook for myself though, and I drink less than I used to, so I think that’s probably why.

Lost about 5 pounds actually. But I was already pretty skinny to begin with. I try to only eat when absolutely hungry and only eat until I’m full even if my food isn’t finished. Also, I only drink heavily maybe once or twice a weekend and I try to avoid elevators at all costs.

A constant supply of beer and such + the types of food one orders when drunk = yep I gained some weight. Last year as a commuter I stayed about the same weight since I was always eating at home and rarely drank.

Ah well what can ya do?

I gained 2 pounds. I needed to anyways so in a way it’s kind of a good thing.

Yup but from eating at crap dining halls, not from drinking.

I ate more pasta this semester than I have in my entire life. So many freaking carve and I gained at least 5 lbs but I’ve lost some since I’ve been home since I don’t eat as much at home as I did in school. But I’m planning on working out next semester to drop at least 20 by spring break.

Yeah, something like 5 pounds. It’s probably from eating more and maybe a little from drinking, but I’m a lightweight so I doubt it was a big factor. Anyway, I was pretty underweight in the first place, so I have no problem with a little extra weight!

I gained 30 pounds over the course of 4 years after high school thanks community college
:(.

Not my first semester or year, but about age 22 (around my 2nd half year) my fast metabolism that I had my whole life up until that point slowed down abruptly. I gained 10 pounds in a 90 days period. With an adjustment in diet (cut down on soda, eat three strict meals a days, drank lots of water, ate light with lunch, etc) I lost about 10 of it within a semester period. The actual average is 5 pounds, that students gain when they put on weight.

Nope, since my first semester was at community college and I mostly ate at home. Plus they didn’t have a lot of vegetarian options.

And even now at UC Davis, I haven’t gained much weight at all. Maybe 2 lbs, but that’s it. I’m still slightly underweight.

I gained 13 lbs in my first semester of college (which ended just a few weeks ago)

Causes were:
- Pizza, cookies, pastries, salad with tons of cheese and dressing that I would eat at the dining hall. Basically lots of greasy, cheesy, or sugary foods.
- All the cereal and chocolate in my dorm (more overloading carbs and sugar)
- Very dramatic depression I put myself through over an unrequited crush
- Stress over the first class for my major

Lucky I wasn’t too fat to begin with at 120 lbs (5’7" female), now I’m just an average body at 133 lbs.

But basically I would get so stressed/upset that I would go to the dining hall with the purpose to eat myself silly even if I wasn’t hungry. Bad habit of eating my feelings :P

Must work on this before I gain any more.

i lamented missing an A on an exam by going to Chipotle so don’t feel too bad, naoki

i lost ten pounds, but then again, i started smoking and i work out six days a week for roller derby.

I had the classic freshman 15 thanks to alcohol and fastfood.

Since the beginning of the school year, I gained about five or six… But I still weigh less than I did at the beginning of senior year, so I’m not really worried. I walk a lot at school and I don’t drink, which I’ve heard drinking is the main reason for added on weight during freshman year.

It probably is. It takes me like eight beers to get going, even at 100 calories a can that’s a lot. I like bottles of red wine… that’s about 660 calories. And rum ‘n’ cokes are also the devil’s handiwork when it comes to calories.
