I got a 2310 on my SAT reasoning, but I'm usually a terrible subject tester, which has been proven by my practice tests. Is it still forced upon you to take the SAT II to even potentially get in?

THANKS!

It is a requirement to take 2 SAT subject tests. If you don’t complete them, your application won’t be considered complete to be processed.

Is that for all schools or only certain schools?

This post is on the Harvard thread.

If you are aiming for Ivy league schools, there are only three schools (Yale, Penn and Brown) that will take ACT instead of SAT + 2 SAT IIs.

Math is like the Math section but harder, Literature is like the Critical Reading section but harder. I wouldn’t suggest just submitting those two, but if it’s that you’re good at English and math standardized tests but not science/history/language standardized tests, you might. Also, some colleges might take APs instead of SAT IIs. I do not believe that Harvard is one of them, but they exist.

SATII tests are a breeze compared to the SAT R.

2200 (estimated), and a 2400 SATII

OP, I’d look at the question from Harvard’s viewpoint … they are going to receive something like 20,000 viable applications including 19,900 that include 2 SAT IIs … so the question for them is why should they ignore the 19,000 viable candidates who provided all the required information to consider the 100 folks who decided to not submit all the required information. That seems like a pretty uphill battle to me unless the candidate has an unbelievable hook such as curing cancer as a 15 year-old.

It is not so much as why should OP be considered. It is how application process works in colleges where the file does nt get moved into review step until all paper work has been completed. So if the requirements are not first met, no one will be reviewing the application.

If you’re using a Barron’s book for your practice tests, you might be getting significantly deflated scores. The Math 2 test at least is very manageable as long as you took pre-calculus.

I was horrible at SAT I and SAT II, and still managed through. 2210 for Reasoning, and 1520 for SAT II Math and US History
