Thanks for catching my mistake. Even more so proves my point that he has been lying for eight months starting in Summer '11.

Actually my son finished his last class at the END of August 2011. So it hasn’t quite been a year. Yes, it’s been a hectic year. My younger son started college, my husband had gallbladder surgery and my father in law had 2 back surgeries and has not really recovered from his issues. I have said before, I should have pressed the issue a bit more. I was letting him handle it. I appreciate the feedback here! He is having trouble getting a hold of an engineering deparment advisor now. For the last couple days, the one handling it before said she no longer handled that, and the name he was given told him to contact another person next week. I know it’s summer and possibly going to take longer. I told him this morning at this point, no more emailing, we need to talk to someone on the phone or in person.

Insomniac, I am glad you caught the mistake and have it all under control. That is a nice trait. However, I would not trade my son for the world, because he is a nice, caring, humorous person full of personality. I know, I’m a little partial. AND he’s SO close to graduating with a degree we feel certain he can get a good job in.

I don’t know any parent that would trade their child for the world. And that’s great that he has those good traits, but in the “real world” you need a lot more than that to survive. I really hope your son realizes the huge mistakes he made and learns from them. I really do wish him luck.

“I don’t know any parent that would trade their child for the world.” - Ask them on the right day

I’ve read many college crash-and-burn stories on CC, and some of them include students with ugly, ungrateful attitudes. This kid seems to have a peaceful relationship at home. I too hope that he learns from these mistakes and does well in the real world.

TacomaJoe is it possible to make an appointment with the person and then go to the college and speak face to face? Or make a phone appointment? Can someone in the office of student affairs help? Or the Office of Undergraduate Degree Services?

I think I recall that this is CSU Northridge, if so try this link:
[Undergraduate Degree Services About Us](http://www.csun.edu/anr/grad/aboutus.html)

Thank you for that link. We are on it this morning. If we don’t talk to someone on the phone TODAY, I am making an appointment for in person. It’s a 3 hour drive one way thru LA. But at this point, we need answers and in writing.

Smart. Good luck!

good luck TacomaJoe!

Sending problem solving positive thoughts!

The drive sounds ugly, but eventually ya gotta do it if not getting responses. Best of luck!
