So... how are you going to spend your Summer?

School just ended for some of us. Some of that were accepted into prep-schools, and some of that weren't. Well, this thread is prep-school non-related. What are you going to do over your summer. What can we do over the Summer to spend our time efficiently?(I'm not looking for answers like, "Study and prepare for the SSAT")?

This question is for parents and students.

Hmm…well, I got in, at last! I’m going to take a refresher in Algebra to prepare for math, running a lot, swimming, practicing my instrument. I won’t be saving the world, but I think I’ll be preparing and waiting in anticipation for BS.

I like to hone my fishing skills by catch and release until I run out of all the fish in Lake Superior. :D

Well I’ll be doing some community service so maybe my applications will look a little more impressive but also cause I really love helping out  I’m also gonna take jeet kune do classes (a mix of 47 different self defense arts) and work on my guitar (because I really really suck) lol this year is going to be so much more different then last year when all I did was sleep and eat…

Volunteering at local church. Rowing. Hanging out with friends. Buying what I need for next year. Going to German Camp for a month :)

German camp? Well this sounds like a stupid wuestion but I can’t help but wonder if it’s a camp in Germany or a camp where you learn german customs? lol either way it seems very ineteresting :D

*interesting 40 seconds -.-
24 seconds
9 secs :D

yeah. It’s with Concordia Language Villages. It’s supposed to teach you customs and the language. Very cool. The counselors are mostly native speakers of the target language, in my case German. They have an amazing BioHaus and very cool programs. If you like languages you would love to go to any one of their camps.

Going to National Young Leaders Conference on Sunday and coming back the 27th of June (kind of excited, I am very interested in politics), European vacation for a couple weeks, try to get in some community service, am going to take a full year of Geometry at a local day school to try to get up to par in math at the bs I am going to next year, and of course going to the beach.

Reading, running, working, going into Boston with friends, etc.

This is one of the first summers in recent years that I’ve haven’t had much planned. Right now my summer is going to include:

Relaxing (top priority :))

Finishing up driver’s ed and getting those 40 hours in with my parents and hopefully getting my license

Applying for a passport

Viendo un poco de televisi

Theatre camp. (4 weeks)

Working for… 3-5 hours a day, fundraising and making follow-up phone calls for an organization.

Try to make friends with townies where my summer house is so I’m not alone.

Running.

Surgery, five-day recovery period.

RELAXING. <3

@pittsburger that seems sooo cool  I’m gonna check the website right now and see if they have a program for french :)

I’m going to work at a summer camp that I’ve been going to since I was 8 for the first year, so I think that’s pretty cool (obviously I’m probably gonna be studying for the SAT a little bit but whatever). Afterward I have football practice and training camp before school starts, so I start that in late August. That’s pretty much it for me.

@Jane, It is very cool and they do have a French program. It’s called Lac du Bois

It’s all right for some, I still have over a month of school left

1) volunteering at UPenn, 50 hour commitment.
2) field hockey camp for 5 days
3) Andover’s Summernet
4) Running, running, running.
5) Shore!
6) Pool parties
7) seeing a few musicals.

Bump bump bump!!!
