so, how bad do u have to do to get revoked?

like for me...
i've gotten mostly a's and a couple of b's in my hih school years
well i got accepted a couple of months ago, and my grades for senior year have been.. not good.
my first semester grades had two c's, one b, and 3 a's. (the a's were in orchestra.. an easy global cultures class, and ceramics).

how far do i have to drop second semester in order to get my admissions revoked? i have a feeling i'll get c's again..

and it is NOT because i have been slacking. i have not been working as hard as i have, truthfully, but am still working hard- my classes, being senior year, ARE significantly harder than they have been in the past. the c's i got first semester was in an ap class and an honors class...

it osunds like i'm mkaing excuses but.. just what do u think, how far do u have to go downwards in order to get an admissison revoked? considering i've heard that there's been a significant increase in the # of applicants..

I can't really tell you specifically how low your grades have to drop in order to have your acceptance revoked. I do know that if you usually get all A's, and after your acceptance, you begin to get C's, the admissions committee may wonder why your grades have dropped. And if you get a D that shows on your final transcript, the admissions committee will definitely send you a letter either wanting you to explain your grade, or they may rescind your admissions. The best advice that I can give is that you should keep going at your normal pace, and try not to slack off. You are the only person who can tell yourself whether you are perfoming on par or not.

bummmmppp anyone know of actual cases of ppl getting revoked?

I'm also interested to know how far the grade could drop. Is getting all Bs okay? I got straight As... but This semster might show some Bs.

how about this worst case scenario... getting straight Bs?

We've tackled this before, look down several pages.

I don't know exactly how far the grades would have to drop, or if there is a hard-and-fast rule about it. But yes, students have, in the past, had to explain their low senior grades in order to keep their spot in the class and not have it rescinded.

im sure bs are fine and dont quote me on this but even prob 1 or 2 cs it has to be dramtic prob like ds or possibly straight cs but still do not slack

This lady told us at campus day...if you have 3 or more C's they take a look at it and may revoke!...that sucks cause i might get 2 and now im scared

I suspect they wouldn't outright revoke your admissions--you'd have a chance to explain yourself. Someone who had slacked off would need to confess, grovel, apologize, and swear it doesn't reflect their amibition or abilities.

Someone like college2004 would want to emphasize that s/he's taken a harder program this year, that it's been tough and he may have bitten off a little more than he could chew at first...but he feels it's prepared him for the rigors of college much better than if he'd done what a lot of his peers do which is take a lighter load. He could say a lot about it being a learning experience, while trying to emphasize that it's not something he thinks will be repeated in college (struggling with challenge, that is).
