So...how bad is this GPA?

Hi everyone. Recently finished my second semester in freshman year.
This semester has been a bit rocky, and my grades definitely reflected that. Will probably get the following grades for my classes:
Bio Gen II: B+
Bio Lab: A
Geology: B
Geology lab: B+
UD Poli sci: A
Natural Science: A
This brings me to around a 3.6 ish. Last semester I got a 3.82 and I only had one B. It will average out to like a 3.7 but just wondering how bad this is? I’m not looking to be pre med or anything, but grad school is in my future. I’m gonna work really hard next semester to bring my grades back up but will this semester reflect poorly on me?

Bump

I’m not a college student(high school senior),but to me your gpa seems fine. You still have 3 more years to show an increase in your gpa too and you already seem as if you have the right mindset/priorities to do well.I think your gpa is perfectly fine.

It’s perfectly fine. Freshman year is a huge adjustment; you can’t expect to get A’s all the time. Plus, it looks like you took some difficult classes. Be proud of your accomplishments!

It’s fine

A 3.7 is a very good GPA; especially for someone with a STEM heavy course load.

Yeah, it’s more than fine - realize that GPA’s are lower in college, and that anything over a 3.5 really doesn’t make a difference in any way barring a few notable exceptions. Relax!

@Tookme10mins @NewBeginnings3 @hungryteenager @preamble1776 @PengsPhils Thank you guys so much!!
I’ve been super worried but I’m glad it’s alright :slight_smile:

You’re welcome :slight_smile:

3.7 is great!
