I'm still in shock over the 800 I received. I've yet to see what I got on the essay and the multiple-choice questions, seeing as the letter was just mailed today.

Anyway, I hope everyone else scored higher than they expected.

I was surprised I got an 800, too, considering that I got a 670 the first time I took it.

wow gj wajunior

I got an 800, and of course I'm really pleased, but a little surprised. First, I usually think of myself as better in math than english, second, I did 6 practice tests (3 Kaplan and 3 Barron) and I never got higher than a 720 (and often got a whole lot lower than that), so go figure. Either the Kapan and Barron tests are way harder than the real thing, or college board cut me a break in honor of the farewell to the writing.

One question, though, the college board is getting rid of the writing Sat II because it is too similar to the writing section of the Sat I,yet they are retaining two Sat II's in math. Aren't they similar to the Sat I math section, partciularly the first one?

Wow..100% of the posters on this thread who posted their score have received an 800. I hope the SAT I writing section is that "easy".

How did you get your scores? Son's score is not up on the CB site and nothing came in the mail here...

Yeah, I took the writing on February 5th and it's not online yet.

I took it on January 22nd. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I got a 750, and even more surprised that I got a 10 on my essay.

i got a 790, and i was rlly ****ed off i got a 9 on the essay. I had an 80 subscore for the mc, but if i just had like an extra point on the essay i coulda got 800

800 here also

The writing SAT II was not scrapped because it was similar to the new writing sections, it IS the new writing section. ETS moved it, basically.

The SAT II Math tests are very different from the SAT I Math sections. The SAT IIs cover different (more advanced) topics. The SAT II IC convers grade 11 math, and the SAT II IIC convers grade 12 math (the grade 11/12 maths in Canada anyway). Grade 10 math is all that's needed for the SAT I Math sections.

I also got a 9 on the essay and an 80 on multiple choice.

Must be one of the CB's tricks...

If it helps, I got two "Identifying Sentence Errors" questions and one "Improving Paragraphs" question wrong. I did not omit anything.

Did you already get your score report in the mail? How do you know subscores?

Wow nice scores!

How did you all prepare for the test?

What year is everyone who took the Jan 22 writing test? Are you all class of 2006?

perfectionist421: Yeah, I received them yesterday. They do show your subscores.

JimmyEatWorld711: Where did you get that idea? I'm '05, as should be everyone else who took it.

Lots of '06 kids took the test too, since they will get the better of their SAT II Riting score or their new SAT I writing score when they apply to colleges next year...it's sort of an insurance policy.

reasonabledad--can you provide citation for this? I'm curious which colleges have this policy--thanks!!!

I'm a senior, too.
