First - scroll down the page - don't hit the FA letter button

ED applicant

$42,095 in grants/scholarships
$2,800 work study
$7,500 student loans

Our EFC is about $7,500

So we are very happy with the package.

Are all your financial aid documents in? Mine isnt up but im missing student w2s.

Congrats! I hope im as fortunate as you

Yes - they had all of our documents. Cortana - you need to fight for the RPI match - you were a ED accept right?

No, im RD. and i definitely will. Do you log in with the admission id given on the acceptance letterbor with your common app id? The acceptance letter said i can only access such documents with the admissions id but i can only log in with my common app id

Mine is up, and well it’s better than I expected but less than I actually need… Does anybody know what the difference between “Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Grant” and “University Endowed Scholarship” are? I mean I guess it doesn’t really matter the difference as long as I get money, but I’m just curious :)

It was in Where I am in the Process - same place you got your decision. Scroll down the page.

An endowed scholarship was money given by a donor - it’s an honor to get a endowed scholarship. Most likely you will have to write a thank you at the end of the year to the donor.

@kleibo - Congrats! You get more money as an ED applicant, correct? Since they promised to meet full demonstrated need?

@all - For my Student w2s and student income tax return, it says WAIVED. I’m assuming it’s because I’ve never worked for pay before. Does this have anything to do with my not getting my package yet? ): Also, Brandeis is giving me 45k in grants and scholarships with an EFC of $3800. I’m expecting Carnegie Mellon to give me less than that, but will Brandeis’s financial aid package have any impact on “negotiations?”

Yes, CMU will meet demonstrated need for all ED applicants. That is not the case for RD applicants. CMU will most likely not match the Brandeis package. But why not try, especially if CMU is your top choice.

CMU is definitely my top choice! I’m planning on going regardless, even if I have to take out sizable loans. Of course, I’d rather not be saddled with debt, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers I guess.

I don’t see anything there when I scroll down, even though I have all my documents submitted and it says that my FA Eligibility Letter was sent… does this mean I didn’t get any FA?

When does it say it was sent - ours says March 28th. If it was sent after that - it will be displayed at a later date.

Mine says March 30 - that’s probably why. Thanks for the info!

If I have only submitted the FAFSA, will I be notified if I have received a Carnegie scholarship or not?

The letter was linked up in the Now that I’m enrolled website - for enrolled students.

https://www.as.cmu.edu/application//now_enrolling.html

ugh i’m going to have to call admissions tomorrow. I can’t log on to that site with the admission ID given in my acceptance letter.

Oh I haven’t enrolled yet I think that’s why that site isn’t working for me.

So we aren’t able to view the page until we are enrolled? It isn’t opening for me either.

I found my financial aid awards on the Where Am I In The Process page (you need your Common App ID). It’s about 90% worse than what I expected from the Early Financial Aid Estimate we submitted earlier.

I think I’m going to try reversing my SIRs and going to Berkeley (I’m in CA)…

Yes, you need to be enrolled to enter that page.
