I just got a text from my husband with our D and he says its disorganized.:(

^ hmm. glad i didnt go then :)

I thought it was good, a lot of nice looking girls walking around

It was ok. I didn’t get to go to any of the programs because I went an hour late(Miss 1), got lost and couldn’t find the room we wanted to go to (Miss 2) Got hungry and ate over the noon program (Miss 3), 1 o clock program I wanted filled up too quickly and we weren’t allowed in (Miss 4), and then we had to go at 2.

However me and my cousin spent the entire day exploring the entire campus, and besides the Lagoon being lined with algae/moss/whatever, along with the completely random beach party that looked fun, it was all good ish.

Funny part: Lining up in the wrong line at Jamba Juice.

^ The random beach party is really not that random. It’s called Floatopia. Happens at least once every quarter.

Oh, whoops. Did not know that, but now I do!!!

Haha.

np…you should have stayed and joined the fun…

I think it was amazing and i just loved it.
It was pretty crazy at the beach in Isla Vista today…so many people…
And the Goleta Beach Park is also pretty nice, very relaxed.

I visited a friend’s dorm room in Santa Cruz and his whole floor smelled of beer and weed.

Floatopia was getting pretty insane and DP was pretty packed already at 3. I don’t think many of the visitors wandered that way though.

I hated it. The presentations were disorganized. The beach is nasty. Some guy was ****ing in the lagoon. A few guys were being carried in stretchers to ambulances. Isla Vista is the most disgusting place I’ve ever seen. I never want to go to that school even despite the Regents scholarship they’re giving me. It’s between Cal and UCSD now.

If you have any concern about your education, then DON’T go here. The guys are sexy, but that’s beside the point. And they were all drunk or high anyways.

The campus looks a lot more appealing during the day than when I visited last night. I drove around the campus and Isla Vista at night and the party reputation does seem to be true… a lot of the students smelled of smoke or whatever it was when I passed by them.
Anyway, I really liked UCSB! At first I was a bit iffy before the visit but I know now that I want to go here. The weather was great today, the students look like they’re happy, the campus is gorgeous and huge, and I liked the talk for the major I’m applied under (which officially helped me set my decision on SB). I’m so excited for September!!
Oh and I headed towards Isla Vista for lunch to try the boba drink @ the Naan Stop place and I liked it yay! I was wondering why every student was carrying those huge floaties around haha… it looked so fun, if I knew there was an event, I would’ve checked it out! Naan Stop was literally right thereeee uggghhh

wow… you’re judging the school based on ONE visit, not to mention that the day the administrators chose for spring insight is the day when Floatopia is going to happen (people with floaties and getting drunk on the beach). you’ll get students getting carried on stretchers anywhere: students get drunk and sometimes alcohol poisoning because they don’t know their limit. is it the school to blame for their stupidity? the school did not provide them the drinks

^They’re happy because they’re delusional.

Just my opinion… take it or leave it. It’s not a good fit for me but it might be for someone else.

konakai,

My friend there figured about half the student body gets absolutely wasted every week. He said about a quarter of the students abstain from abusing substances in general.

It was a bad day for Spring Insight, considering it was the first weekend back from Spring Break and there was that huge party going on. Plus it was a Saturday lol what do you expect that stuff happens at every school besides the insanely competitive ones maybe (Cal in your situation)

^I regret not going to UCSD today, but at least I know to cross UCSB off my list. I had high hopes, but it’s not the environment for me.

hey it’s the University of Casual Sex and Beer or (U Can Study Buzzed); what did you expect?

I thought it wasn’t bad, I liked it. But all these comments make me so worried about going. I wanna join a substance free environment and a good education. I know UCSB will offer me that but these comments make me hesitant.
