So how many years of a language

I take French (yay) and I kinda hate it, this is my 2nd year in it and its scheduling time. I want to take some different classes and enjoy myself but I don't want to close any doors.
So you know of any colleges that require more then 2 years if a language?
I have no clue what my major will be but nothing like international business or whatever

Most colleges only require two years, but many also strongly recommend 3-4 years (it varies by college at that point). Really it would benefit you to take at least one more year of French. That being said if you are beyond miserable make sure you replace French with a rigorous class and not a blow-off/easy A elective.

You should take at least 3 years of a language. I was in the same boat as you. My eighth grade year counted as French I, I took French II freshman year and hated it. I struggled through it and decided not to take French ever again. Then I realized I needed at least another year so I took French III last year as a junior and now I’m not taking it again. I’d say do one more year at least.

I would recommend 3. I mean 4 is great and all, but I wouldn’t say you have to if you aren’t truly interested in the language. I think it’d just become a strain come your junior/senior year, depending on when you started.
