So.. how was your AP World History test?

Change:
*Slave trade was abolished
*Source of immigrants (Western v. Eastern Europe)
*Went from wooden sailing ships to steamships
Continuity:
*Destination (New World)
*Traveled by sea

Could the russian migration into northeast asia count as a continuity because throughout the time period they continually migrated into the lands above China which I see as a “long distance” from their cities near western Europe (St. Petersburg, Moscow)

It’s been 48 hours, so I’m assuming it’s okay to talk about the essays now…

DBQ - I thought it wasn’t too bad - mine was a bit disorganized but I think it made sense. My groupings were 1) cause, people suffering in poverty, 2) consequence, social change with peasants and women, 3) consequence, negative effect on environment & competition, 4) consequence, increased population and food supply There was one part where I crossed off a sentence and wrote on top of it… I hope the person who grades my essay doesn’t mind that. 5-7

CCOT - This one was pretty good - end of slave trade in Africa as my change and continued migration to the Americas as my continuity. 6-7

C&C - This was BAD, it’s sad because I realized what I could have done right after the test… I tried to do the Mongol&Aztec, but what I wrote didn’t make sense. My similarity was that they extracted tribute (true, but not pertaining to the rise) and my difference was that the Mongols remained aloof from their subjects and didn’t focus on cultural innovation while the Aztecs did… yeah, expecting a 1-3 on that.

MC I feel like I got a 50-55. I’m hoping for a five but that C&C essay probably killed my chances. I studied a lot too… oh well, one AP test. Not the end of the world.

Why is everyone fretting about “rise”? Their rise includes how they conquered and treated their conquered peoples.

Comparisons
*Never reluctant to use military might
*Fear tactics
Contrasts
*Mongols were equestrian
*Mongols conquered large empires, Aztecs conquered small city-states
*Mongols used gunpowder, Aztecs used ‘primitive’ technology
