so i accidentally changed my major

so here's what happened. i'm originally a CS:Game Design major. I log into my college's portal and accidentally switched to Biology thinking I can change it back. Now I can't change my bio major back to my original CS:Game Design major. Are the admission officers able to change my major back? FUUUUUU i'm a ****ing retard for doing it

Your intended major is listed below. Should you wish to change your intended major, simply select the box next to your proposed major. Please note that there may be certain majors that you will not be able to choose from the list, since these majors are only available if indicated on your original application. If you are interested in one of these majors, please contact the Office of Admissions at myapplication@ucsc.edu or (831) 459-2131 to find out about the availabilty of that major to you.

I'm going to call the Office of Admissions tomorrow to see if I can get it changed. I sent them an email since it's too late, but I want to call them. Will I be able to change it?

wrong forum ? ask the ucsc forum…

Certainly. Even if you can’t change it right now, later it won’t be hard. Being listed as a bio major doesn’t stop you from taking game design classes, you’ll just have to worry about doing a bit of paperwork later to declare your major as game design.

And make sure you take CMPS 80K whenever it is offered! It’s seriously the most awesome class you will take as a game design major.

Don’t worry, having a proposed major doesn’t mean you have a major yet (you don’t). You’ll have to declare your major by the end of your 2nd quarter at UCSC. I’d probably call admissions anyway, though, if you’re feeling uneasy about it (which would be totally understandable).

“You’ll have to declare your major by the end of your 2nd quarter at UCSC.”

Really? I’m a first year and I haven’t had to do that yet.

Liesel: The rule to declare by the end of the second quarter is a rule for transfers, not frosh. You have until the end of your sophomore year.

well i called the admissions office and she said she couldnt change it b/c since didnt know if i was accepeted to the BSOE-i told her i didnt get in. then i find out i did get accepted into the BSOE. i’m the most stupidest person on the planet right now.

i might switch from CS:GD into CS.

@Kender: Oh okay, that makes sense. XP

@tonythetiger: Noo! Join us in CS:GD! If you have any questions about the program you can ask me.

still deciding. i might just get a CS major and then take GD classes as electives.

then again i cant even change my major now so -___________-

Your proposed major doesn’t really matter at all the first year or so. You obviously haven’t officially declared a major yet, so you have nothing to worry about at the moment.

All you have to do to change your proposed major is visit your college’s advisers and they change it for you. But since you are not affiliated with a college yet and aren’t taking classes yet, it doesn’t matter. There is really no affect on what classes you take for undergrad.
