I will call Admissions today.

No particular reason, but I wanna call em.

Anything I should say or that you want me to ask?

Ask them how many acceptances are still left......

tom: I will call as well, but please ask them if all applications have already been reviewed and if decisions are done...

I called yesterday trying to elicit information about waves as slyly as possible without asking point-blank:

Q: I was wondering when admissions come out for undergrads? Is it the 31st or the 1st?
A: It's by the 1st?
Q: So I can check it online or on the mail and get it by or on the 1st?
A: No, decisions will be made up until the 1st.
Q: Theoretically, that means I can get it as late as the first week of April then?
A: Yes, look for it the first week. That's when a lot of them come.

thanks, Quixotic for posting that info:

but that doesn't really explain why some of us haven't even been updated to "reviewed"...It makes you think that the app was not even looked at after the midyear's were recieved (and logically, why would they have even asked for them if that was the case?)....Just trying to be logical (when the process is not)...

what gives me hope is that he said " That's when a lot of them come ".....

i have a feeling that updating our status pages are the last thing they worry about. more than one school that i've applied to has lagged heavily when it comes to updating the status page.

there have been many examples on the USC board where peeps are accepted without a change in their status... or the change comes well after their acceptance. hang in there folks, we're in the final stretch.

As about your online status and why some people have had their status changed, but not the date at the bottom.

ask them if i will get in

Lol, so I tried. That punk was good...

I started with "My apps been in review for a while."

And he said "That's bad... ... ... j/k, we have some subtleties to the online app checker; you'll be hearing from us in a week or two. That's when we send most of our decisions."

I also asked him about the online registration thing; it's independent from admissions, anyone with a USCID could get on.

Didn't ask him about how many though. That slipped my mind.

I dont like that joke

"That's bad... ... ... j/k, we have some subtleties to the online app checker."

Seems serious to me

a week or two? wait a minute! I thought they said BY APRIL 1st. This stress is not good for my weak heart.

last year, hella people didn't hear their acceptances till mid-april. i don't think you have too much to worry about there :T

It`s just.... I kind of want to know by April 1st because I have to turn in my letter intent to the other school by May 1st :/

Waiting until mid-April to get a definite answer doesn`t give me much time to plan out where I want to go.

If I get accepted, I`ll go for sure, but if I get rejected, I want to know so I can decide between the rest of my colleges.

If you know the other colleges, why not pick one for the just in case scenario?

Fshe, I've tried to do it so that when I get my decisions back, I'll know where I want to be. Like, somewhat of a ranking system. I've got myself down to four schools, and i'm still waiting on responses from three of those.

tomwkomd, being outsmarted by admissions offices sucks, especially because the 'j/k' guy probably thought he was really funny. :-)

It was really funny. I was laughing. :P

isn't the last batch of everything coming out on the 28th?

It's supposed to, but with so many applicants, you never know. They may get behind.

I think it was said that reviewing could last till April 1, that there might be a bit of a delay,
