I can understand how that would be frustrating. I was going to be going out of country too to go build some houses in china, but a collapsed lung prevented that. At least i get to find out for sure sometime this week :)

I think that USC’s use of the status change has cause alot of unnecessary stress. If it wasn’t there, we’d all hafta stalk the mailbox the old fashioned way, without anticipating any letter because of some status change. I will admit I’m guilty of checking my status every 10 minutes or whenever i feel the wind shift direction, but thats what prompted me to make the call. I’m hoping that i wasn’t being overly optimistic when it sounded like she was saying i was going to get a letter tomorrow, but we’ll see :)

Once again, I encourage everyone here to not panic, and not lose hope. :)

also another update. It was confirmed that my status was indeed reviewed and the decision has been made, but my status is still at forwarded, thoroughly concluding that statuses are NOT everything

doesn’t mean i’m accepted, it just means statuses are not corresponding with admission status

I am going to be out of the country for the next week too, so i definitely feel your pain! I am hoping I get something in the mail BEFORE I leave on monday, or I’ll have to wait until April 7th to actually hold that admissions decision in my hands. Best of luck to you!

And thank you Fieralds for the information, definitely makes me feel a bit more relaxed about the status craze!

I’m all good Had a Thor-vent for 2 weeks. Hurt like no other since the pleural lubricant had been absorbed, making it feel like i had sandpaper for pleura whenever i breathed, but now im doin alright cheers

my decision was indeed made, but they were not allowed to inform me of the result of that decision. They can only say the status of the application: whether or not it has been reviewed, etc

I wouldn’t rely on the backdoor link. I haven’t tried simply because there is nothing that implicitly states that if you are able to access you are in, and if you can’t, you are not in. The only way to really tell is to get a package in the mail.

Good Morning CC. My first post and the fact is I haven’t slept since I joined this site just hours ago! It’s almost 5:00 AM. I’m become worried sick since reading all the posts here about the Application Status. My S’s Status is “Your application has been forwarded for committee review” and I don’t know exactly when that changed or what it means. He applied 2 weeks before the deadline and has been in contact with the school ever since. He has had one face-to-face interview over the Summer with the Music Department and a live audition just a couple of months ago. He was also in contact with the Athletic Department throughtout the Summer, Fall and Winter and then all of a sudden things went quiet. His SAT’s are low but his Grades are good and has improved even more this year, to probably about a 3.5 out of a possible 4.0. I know the Music Department likes him and he is sort of a new comer in the Athletics area (I don’t really want to mention the particular sport). Then all of a sudden just about a week and a half ago, the Athletic Department contacted him and began asking for stats, academic information and recommendation letters. So I had his school to get the information to them as soon as possible and then followed it up with a telephone call. The person’s exact words in the Athletic Department was, “now is a good time to try and get you in”. Since that time I have only spoken to him once and he explained that a particular staff member was shorthanded and the process was slow but that my S was at the top of his list and she was working on it.

Any idea about the dependability of this information? Does it mean anything? Students at his school and even around this area are receiving decisions as recent as yesterday (March 25th). Of course the only ones we have heard about are acceptances. I was in line at the Post Office and the family in front of me was awaiting the agent to give them a package that they had received a notice was too big to fit in their post office box. The agent said, “It’s from USC” and the family jumped for joy. Unfortunately all I needed was a book of stamps.

One thing that is very important to remember about this year is that there probably will not be a designated “wave” now. Because USC has had such a large pool of applicants, they couldn’t get through all of them as fast as they had wanted. Don’t be discouraged by not getting a package when a few other people have, because much of what you have said sounds promising. Many of us here (myself included) have never been contacted by USC, so that by itself should give you some hope, however, we here on the boards cannot answer any of your questions whether or not your S mas made it in with 100% confidence. We can only speculate based on the past. The best thing to do is just wait a few more days until you get a letter in the mail.

Admission Rep. I was trying to speak to an Admission Rep from Viterbi, but i was just told that they were all out, and was forwarded to a general Admission rep.

I can’t stand the people who man the phones! I called SCA to ask if they have made a decision on my application. I didn’t ask what the decision is just if they had made one. This woman said
“blah blah april 1st. NO ONE HAS RECEIVED THEIR DECISIONS YET”

Ok so I really want to believe everything that’s positive on this thread, but I’ve been at forwarded for about 2 weeks and thought I had a decent shot at admission. However, if all the decisions have been mailed out by now, I don’t think we are in good shape. Has anyone heard of someone being accepted without their status ever changing from “forwarded”? I haven’t heard/seen one…

tno1991, there have been several people who got their acceptances while being forwarded. Their status system is far from perfect, so there are mistakes or inconsistencies.
