So I got a C+...

Hey guys,

My first semester grades came in and I got straight A’s except for a C+ in Differential Equations/Calculus 3. I was wondering if this letter grade will severely hurt my chances of getting into some of my reaches. This is the first grade that is a not an A. For reference, here are a few of my stats:

(Before first semester senior year grades)

GPA (W/UW): 4.46/4.0
ACT: 34
SAT II: 800 U.S. History, 760 Math IIC, 730 Eng. Lit
AP’s: Calculus AB (5) English Language (5) Euro (5) U.S. History (5) Bio (4) Calculus BC (4)
Got National Merit Semi-Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, etc.

Schools I am applying to that are reaches:

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
Columbia
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
Georgetown
USC (Legacy)
Michigan
Penn

Obviously I know that all of these schools are extremely hard to get into, so I don’t have high expectations of getting into some, or if any, of these universities. I was just wondering if that C+ will have a huge impact on my chances. Thanks for reading this and I hope you have a wonderful day! :)>-

Did you take this at your HS or at a college?

@ready4college78 At my high school, but they brought in a college professor once a week to teach it.

Do you have any safeties?

These colleges are mostly reaches and reject perfect score candidates as well.

So you got a C+… Not the end of the world, your head didn’t blow off, and probably won’t be the deciding factor as to whether or not you get admitted. Not much you can do about it now anyway.
