if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
I'm currently deciding between texas a&m and UT

i don’t think my app was amazing (look at the rank) but compared to the other geo applicants it was probably very good so if you’re wondering why i got my decision back so soon, I would say that’s probably why.

Rank in Plano is not the same as rank in general. UT knows how competitive high schools in Plano are, and I’ll bet they take that into consideration.

Congrats on getting in. :)

rehotsrock: CONGRATS!! and, how did you find out??? Website, snailmail or email??

Congrats! Did you apply to Rice or any of the top schools?

yay congrats redhotsrock!

Congrats! :)

You could have gone to MIT with those SAT stats!

@tmzaidan: but then redhotsrock would have had to live in Mass. Its coooolllldddd up there!

When did you apply?

So lucky! I go to Harmony Science Academy in Austin, with 3/25 rank… still haven’t heard:(. But congratz dude. I got into A&M btw redhots, same guy here from other thread.

hey guys, sorry for the late reply (my sleeping schedule is totally messed up from winter break :P).

@eaglemom: I found out on the bealonghorn.com website after I logged in, my eyes went directly to the messages and it said “Sign up for orientation!” and I was like -___- no congratulations? thanks UT… Of course to find out your official decision you go to your status check page and it will say: Congrats! You were admitted to your (1st or second) choice major! and then of course UT will get straight to nagging you about the 200 dollar deposit.

No email, and no snailmail yet.

@Xcellerator: nope, I figured I would have no chance at those schools, hell, I was happy just to get into A&M and UT lol

@placido240: My application was complete on the last day, in fact, UT showed my application as on time and complete on December 6th/7th! because that is when they received my SAT scores. I thought that my application would be late but I called in to make sure (because my application said on-time) and asked the guy basically told me to shut up and not tempt fate. I sent the above SAT scores from the December test because they were my best.

Basically, my application was probably the last one they ever received ever this year. In retrospect, it probably helped me that they received a record amount of applications and were backed up well past the deadline. That helped me slide through with the late SATs (which I genuinely sent pretty late: 1 week before the deadline without score rushing).

@tarchas: haha tarchas! I see you bro. I remember you on my december test scores thread and on a few other threads around here. 3/25 is great dude, there shouldn’t be any reason you don’t get in. Hopefully your school is decently competitive because apparently that will help. I really hope you get into UT, but if you don’t because of some evil admissions counselor, I’ll probably be seeing you at A&M next year  If you need any advice at all, please PM me, I’ve been on these boards a ridiculous amount, a lot more than my post count would imply and I know a ton about the admissions practices. BTW make sure you send in your updated transcript if you moved up in rank or GPA ASAP. I think the deadline is jan 15th. Best of luck.

@collegejj123, tmzaidan, spdf, and everyone. Thanks all of you for the congratulations! :D

what was your second major choice?

some random CNS major, forgot lol

click not bad :stuck_out_tongue: grats man

thanks man

hopefully you get into MIT, cornell, and penn ;)
