So I got into UCF for the summer term. For the 2015-2016 year for fall and spring, they gave me around $8,175 in financial aid and 2,500 dollars in loans which add up to $11,675 provided for me for the whole year. My tuition is definitely covered and so is transportation. Tuition is $5,979 and transportation is $1,856 which add up to $7,835. I can imagine that I would be able to reduce the costs of books to at least half the price per year cause, ya know, torrents. As far as room and board goes, I have a friend who’s willing to let me live in a house his brother bought at a fairly low rent price of $400 dollars or less per month, but I still might have to take out a little bit more in loans for meal plans, probably personal expenses, and housing still, if needed. Also, my dad might be able to help me reduce costs as well.
I don’t have much time left to decide, and at this point, I’m a bit skeptical about my education at UCF and whether it’ll be worth it if I were to take out loans, even if they’re at a small amount. I got into UF as well, but I don’t really want to go there anymore. As a plus, FIU gave me a full ride and housing isn’t a problem for me because I’m 15 minutes away. So if I were to stay down here for FIU, I was planning to transfer to UCF after two years (hopefully if my credits would transfer), but I still think UCF is a good option as well as a Freshman.
Any feedback? And if I go to UCF in the summer, do they provide enough aid for that term?
