So I messed up...

Hello,

just curious if anyone has any advice for my situation... I plan on seeing a councilor soon, just waiting on some transcripts to be prepared, but in the meantime...

So, I went to CSU Chico a few years ago, from 2003-2005. I screwed up, my gpa was ridiculously low, like 1.2ish, and only ended up finishing about 30 units. Anyway, I have a list of excuses I could ramble through, but what's done is done.

So, a year or so went by and then I started school up again at a community college. Things are different after being in the real world, eh? My gpa is now 3.75, and I'll be finishing up my AA in computer science this coming semester. I haven't touched my CSU Chico units, because I'm scared my nice 3.75 gpa will drop down to the 2.x range as soon as they're transferred.

I'd like to just give my CSU Chico transcript the middle finger and redo the units to avoid all this, because I do intend to transferring to a university sometime soon and don't consider 30 units a major loss, but what do you all think? Is there a way to do a non-gpa transfer, or will even trying to ignore my past come back and haunt me?

Thanks for listening :)

This has been asked many times before. If you do a search you’ll find that you cannot just ignore your previous college courses. They will eventually be connected to you and then you have the chance of having your admission rescinded or having your academic career put on hold while you get the information to the admissions office.

You can’t hide the bad transcript, but don’t be discouraged. You can write a great essay about your spectacular turnaround and get into a good college anyway.
