This would be taking place after my sophomore year of college (which is right now). For some of you that have transferred in successfully or been through the rigors enough to know some of the ins and outs I would appreciate any volunteers to help me sort things out. I am not looking for a “chance me”. I would just appreciate any and all advise I can receive.

I’ve finished my second year as a biochem major with a 4.0 at the University of Northern Iowa. I received a couple recognitions and a reward during this time. I am completely bilingual, will be trilingual after I get back from a trip to Africa for a year. (English, German, French/Kongo dialect)
I have spent five years of my life in Austria at a German public school.
I have a weaker high school background 3.6 gpa taking hard classes but at an unrecognized school. (shouldn’t matter since I have already taken 60 college credits).

Having finished my sophomore year, I will be taking a year off to go to the central African republic where I will have some stunning medical opportunities i won’t go into detail about. First semester-intensive french courses, EMT certification classes. Second semester-Africa for five months.

So right now I have 5 months to build an application for Brown. I also plan on using frequent flier miles to visit the campus in mid-September. How do I make this happen. I am willing to sacrifice a lot, whether it would mean loosing a year of credits or whatever it may be. If this does not work out my second choice will be BC.

p.m. me, or if you are open to the idea of a phone conversation I would be indebted to you. This would be for the fall of 2009-2010
