I'm a highschool senior right now who has decent stats. I'm going to be a pre-med, then a med student who's going to get their MBA during that time (I'm going to a BS/MD). I kind of got lost with all the college stuff, then with my other extracurriculars and completely forgot about summer plans.

Anyways, is it too late to apply for an internship now? Right now im kind of open to anything, but I guess I'd like to work at a big company (google, cisco, etc.) on the marketing or business side of things. I'm guessing this would be easier than research, but is it too late for even that?

I suggest you just look for a summer job. You can learn a lot from working. A job will benefit you in many ways in addition to money. It will also help you in your future internship application.

too late to get internships at prominent companies right now, especially for a high school kid (they might not even take high school kids).

I recommend you either:
- have fun this summer. there will be time for internships later.
- get a normal teen job for the summer
- look for local places that you might be able to volunteer at to gain a little marketing type experience.

You might not be able to get an internship but consider applying for a job at a doctor’s office. It might be menial desk or filing work but they’ll probably pay and you can get hands on experience working in a medical environment!
