So just how bad is UCSD's party scene, really?

It is currently my #1 out of the schools I have so far been accepted to. It's only turnoff for me is that it has that reputation of being a poor school for partying. I have heard that kids tend to party with SDSU people, is that true? Also, just on its own, how is UCSD's party scene? I'm not hard core but I like to party at least once a month. Would I get that?

Keep in mind I do plan on joining Greek Life.

yeah i’m in a similar situation. really need some input from current (2010-2012) students regarding the social scene there.

bumpp bump

This is what a UCSD student had to say about UCSB vs UCSD in regards to social life:

Also, read all the reviews on yelp and student review.

Many students at UCSD choose to live on one of the beautiful beaches, over in Mission Beach or Pacific Beach. Consequently the student density around campus is low compared to a residential school like UCSB. And once in the greater neighborhood of a beach town like MB, students don’t form the dominant numbers the way they do at some schools so you don’t have as much of a college feel.
