I'm currently a senior in high school. My class rank is top 33%, and I'm applying at Texas A&M. Will I be able to get in? I don't have my SAT scores just yet, but I've been in band the past 4 years, 3 of which I spent as a section leader. I was also editor of the school paper and founder of 2 clubs at my school. But my grades weren't great. Will I make it in at A&M?

some specifics might help. what’s “not great”?

Need more information: test scores, EC’s, GPA’s, etc. Re-post after receiving your test scores.

I make 70’s or 80’s. I’m not very good at math, and I failed a six weeks this year with a 65. My grades in English and History are usually 80’s.

I also just retook the SAT. The first time around, I got a 1500. I cancelled those scores because I wasn’t in a very good test taking environment, and hadn’t prepared myself for success. I’ve been a section leader in my school’s varsity marching band for 3 years now, and I’ve been in my school’s top band for 2 years. I was also editor-in-chief of the school paper for 2 years. I head a club at my school called Redefining Beautiful, which promotes charity work. I started that this year. I also started a group called Leading Individuals For Tolerance (LIFT) last year. Will these help me get into A&M?
