So the time has come. (I'm not sure I'm ready for it...)

Aww, crap... I really didn't mean to write a novella. Stop now if you're not up for it. I know most of it doesn't matter, but I'm new at this whole CC thing... I'm sorry. :-(

So I figured that I probably shouldn't go into writing applications without at least a semi-realistic look at my chances. I feel too normal. But that is a risk at reading on CC... but yeah, it would be very kind of anyone to shine a little light on this. I'm sorry its so ridiculously long... but I don't really know this whole process, and what is important, so well.

Writing and singing are my hobbies. I have written hundreds of poems, many of which I have submitted to and have been published in the school Literary Magazine and the book Reflections of Clarke County, and I perform regularly at school-sponsored coffeehouses, though I don't think that really matters.

I am heavily involved in community service with Girl Scouts. While I list Girl Scouts as 1 hour a week, this is primarily meetings; I don't count hours spent outside of meetings in this summation.

As a part of the IB Diploma, candidates must complete a four-thousand word extended essay and 150 hours of community service. I have done and surpassed this, however it is mostly in randomly accumulated hours rather than any specific projects.

I am working on my Girl Scouts Gold Award for raising awareness of gender specific medicine.

I would like to apply to:

Northwestern
U of Chicago
UVA
William and Mary
JMU
Yale
Middlebury
Macalester
U Penn

I am sorry that I included so much crap... I just honestly don't know what matters and what doesn't. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate any advice or any words that anyone may have. I know that a great many of the schools I listed are reaches, but I would like any knowledge that you fellow ccers have to offer...

so thank you! :-)

I love you. :D

I’m trying to figure out how to meaningfully shorten it, but technologically challenged me cannot figure out how to edit… I’m taking off my schedule. I seriously have no idea what I’m supposed to include… you should write one. :)

Keep the scheldule. It shows how hard your classes were or whatever. Don’t be ashamed. :D

wow, you are an amazing student! absolutely outstanding and you should not have trouble getting into anyof those schools. Perhaps you should aim a little higher, I think you have a very good shot at Harvard! I am sure your parents are very proud of you. for some reason it seems like you are of hispanic heritage, if you are you have an even higher chance at all of these schools!

The problem is that everyone has trouble getting into those schools. And Harvard = Yale for all intensive purposes. And I’m not Hispanic. But thanks for offering me hope! Seriously! (Even if it is false.)
