Everyone here's talking about scene people, and it's not making sense. Either is this emo stuff.

Just wondering?

Everyone here's talking about scene people, and it's not making sense. Either is this emo stuff.

Just wondering?

Emo = think LiveJournal
Scene = think MySpace

I still don't get it, enlighten me please?

yea i don't get it too. but that's probably because i'm not meant to get anythiung. :(

Emo is emotional. People tend to be overly dramatic and depressive and, well, emotional. They talk about their problems and want sympathy but pretend they don't.

Scene is harder to explain. Um, it really is those people who have thousands of friends on MySpace. They don't look at the camera during pictures. They where tight, black clothes. Messy hair. Clothes from the kids department. Local concerts. Skinny boys. It's like hard core emo. But don't say that because they'll get angry. Some are straight edge. They like to use lots of x's while typing. Revolves around music. Hate "posers."

A scene is just that a scene. You can have a Emo, metal, hardcore, gay, pop and any other type of scene you want. The scene is usually made up of a buch of people in a specific area. A buch of freinds who enjoy the same stuff in a specific area. Such as in the Bronx you can have the Emo scene which would be alot of people and bands who perform like, A moments worth, dalys gone wrong and Athenas Fury. The metal scene would be Afflitus and Rizen. Thers also a hardcore, scremo, indie, Rap, HIpHOp, Powerpop, acustic ,raggae and a number of other scenes

I like metal Music, and do go to alot of local shows, so here in the Bronx, NY I am a part of the metal scene. I dont dress up or anything, I just like the music. But I have alot of friends and am known to be at the shows, as I am apart of the scene.

It can be anything. The girls on Laguna beech are a part of there own scene, and emo kids the same.

Scene is not a type of lifestyle or music, Its somthing you belong to. This is why you here people say, this is my scene. So a Group of people who go to see a specific type of bands, which are uaully the same, or people who enjoy the same type of music is a scene.

sorry for my typing skills, lol

here are some good links

oh my god i automatically love anyone on this site who comprehends the meaning of scene

corranged has said it best so far. scene isn't really something you can define, you just have to experience it. though i disagree that emo=lj and scene=myspace. lj is totallllyyyy scene. and emo. and vice versa for myspace.

i'm emo, but i shop at the gap too much to be scene. i was moving toward scenester my freshman (maybe sophomore...) year, actually, but i guess i just don't have what it takes. though the amount of time i spend on myspace is directly proportional to my scene points. and i totally brought the scenester side bangs trend to my school.

there's also bad scene and good scene. but good scene is basically just awesomely bad scene. i love scene boys, but the problem with scene boys is scene girls. they suck. my friend and i started a list of scene boy pick up lines: "i can see myself in your jeans. no really, i think they're my size."

i also have no idea where these kids come from. definitely not my school, but i always see hoards (sp?) of them when i'm on campus and downtown.

hahaha as you can see i've looked into this topic just a little too much. i looovvee scene kids. endless amusement.

ok so to get this completely straight, its just a group of people who do the same things together- often- and because they enjoy the same things? isnt that the same as like, having a clique?

but, another, scene people put on more of an image (thus, 'scene')

according to urban dictionary...
The word "scene" coves a large spectrum throughout recent history, but its most modern definition is used to describe certian subcultures and movements. The most notoriously famous and targeted is the alternative music scene, or more specifically, branches of the alternative music scene such as hardcore, indie, fashoionxcore, etc. A breed of scenesters (people on the scene) has begun to come to the forefront. These scenesters are usually very music-savvy and loyal to a few specific genres (typically hardcore, metal, indie, retro, 80's new wave, classic rock, etc. to name a few), of which they dress to exemplify. It is hard to pin down a style for a scene male or female, considering the trends amongst them vary from coast to coast, and certian fads come in and out within their ranks. Typically, though, many scene kids will have facial piercings, tattoos, and longer hair. It is not unusual to see teased hair with long bangs on males, or short fauxhawks (a mohawk without the sides shaved, a fashion-friendly version) on females. It is almost a throwback to the revolution of Britian's glam era, very androgynous and fresh. Scenesters take a lot of pride in their overall image, and often they appreciate shock value. Oftentimes they are thrifty, employing their abilities as bargian-hunters and do-it-yourself gurus to do something unique with their style. Large vintage sunglasses, retro patterns, tight jeans, classic metal/band tees, plastic jewelry, and heavy eye makeup are just some of the incorperations into scene style for either sex. This style and showmanship is at its height during shows (concerts), where often scene kids will meet their friends and size up strangers who visit their turf. There indeed is competition among scenesters...sometimes friendly, sometimes not. Shows are in fact not just concerts, but often a means of socialization for those on the scene. Those people who partake in scene lifestyle often choose to date/socialize only with those like them, which can cause bitterness or rejection to outsiders.

The music scene is often associated with other areas that scenesters are interested in, which is liekely, art, photography, creative writing, poetry, tattoos & piercings, civil rights, animal rights, etc. Many scene kids have strong beliefs about these things and consider those who do not to be "posers." They feel that their scene style is not only a fashion statement, but an all-encompassing lifestyle. Many scene kids incorperate their future plans into their lifestyle, going into careers such as journalism, photography, artistry, piercing, tattooing, working for magazines, being musicians, hairstylists, running venues and/or coffee shops, etc. This tends to cause scene kids to congregate, visit, or even move to big cities to find opportunities to meet other scenesters, find jobs that suit them, or to live where they have a plethora of activities that they enjoy readily at their disposal.

I love how people here had to refer to wiki and urban dictionary to explain what scene is lol. CC doesn’t seem to have many emo/scene kids, which is pretty disappointing (to me at least). Get with the culture and away from the books!!

(& I don’t think the fact that this post is 4 years old makes a difference.)

Damn straight we dont like posers.
And DONT refer us to EMO’s… Emo ppl are posers and wanna-be’s. They have no Idea what theyre doing.
