I applied early to Penn partly to get the whole application process over with (had I gotten accepted). Now that UMIch has accepted me and the application process is over for me, I'm really glad that Penn deferred me. I think it would have been the wrong school for me..way too elitist.
Judging from the stuck up kids from my school who they accepted, I wouldn't want to be at Penn, if they represent the accepted pool.
I'm still doing apps, but without that much effort on my part since I got accepted into a school I love (with a scholarhip to boot).

I got deferred, not rejected. There's big difference.
ONCE AND FOR ALL, PENN DEFERRED ME!

For 88% of those deferred, it is as good as rejection. If you are making no effort to get in (as in letter, extra rec, whathaveyou) then you probably will be rejected RD.

There will be one less stuck up kid at Penn without you dulce.

Well, I decided that I would attend an ivy league school not just for the prestige, good education, good job prospects, etc. but because they offer need based aid. Basically a full ride to kids in households making under 50K.

Penn was my first choice because of its proximity to NY, urban atmosphere(tired of suburbia), and its programs.
