So who else cited the Muhammad South Park episode

I repeat: stop posting in this thread.

lolololololo

I think you guys are fine, because I did not take the test and I have no idea what the question was.

Although I can infer it’s something about satire – do I know too much?

^ No, it wasn’t actually, so I guess this thread is fine.

Edit: BTW, I was going to use that too… Then I thought it’d be a “weak” example to use.

I really doubt that posting about comedians will give away the prompt, or even topic of the prompt. All you will know is a few examples to use, if you know how to use them…

Any other Canadians here? I cited Air Farce. =)

I don’t watch South Park, but that sounds like a good idea.
I wrote about a newspaper in New York that published a cartoon of Muhammad being harassed in airport security. Idk if it’s true, but it was on an episode of the Good Wife, so whatever. Then I wrote about Jeff Foxworthy and how he’s a millionaire but he makes a living telling jokes about being poor (he’s fraudulent); so basically some humorists deserve to be commended and some deserve to be condemned.

I used SNL, Daily Show, Southpark, Colbert Report, readers are going to have fun tallying how many times they see the same examples

■■■■■

And I thought I was the only one.

bumping because i did this and got a 4!

I did this. I’ve only ever watched two episodes of South Park about three years ago, so I hardly knew what I was talking about, but I got a 5!

I absolutely loved that prompt. I didn’t cite the Muhammad episode specifically, but I talked about the Simpsons, South Park, and Futurama in one of my body paragraphs.

However, i think many people cited Jonathan Swift, as did I. Hahaha. I also wrote about Thomas Nast (American political cartoonist) but I don’t think many people know who he is.

I think this essay helped me get a 5 for sure. The other two prompts, especially the education synthesis essay, killed me.

I cited Chelsea Handler and George Lopez. :D

@Azn

how can essay prompts kill you if you got a 5? its not like those 2 could have gotten you 2 out of 9 and this one got you 15 out of 9

you must have done really well on this one and average on the others

I wrote about George Carlin and David Letterman…ended up getting a 5 somehow.

I used the South Park reference. Fit perfectly with the prompt.

its funny because i saw that particular episode the night before testing, it was all i could think about during the test because it was that hilarious. and then i saw the prompt and i KILLED IT.

Shakespeare was one of mine

Did it. Got a 5.

I used SNL, the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and Voltaire (who I actually know almost nothing about), and got a 5. I thought I was a ****ty writer, but apparently not…

Now hopefully colleges can see that score and disregard my writing score of 8 on both my ACT and SAT.
