No, I got the snail mail folder yesterday. There's a newsletter in the packet that says something like merit aid awards are described in your admission letter. My letter didn't have the magic words (or numbers).

meh

S received packet following e-mail, with notice of "Trustee" merit scholarship of 14,500 per year. Happy dance happening on our end! Notice said financial aid letter would follow from fin. aid office, but not yet received. Time to plan a trip to SA :)

wow... almost all of you guys have gotten our admission letters....seems like am the only person here applying for the early action 2 decison program... o well, ges i have to wait till nxt year ....lol

Me too,tuoyo00! I just submitted my EA II application last night. G'luck!

That's nice..... well, g'luck too!!!!!

I was supposed to receive a decision from 2 schools on the 15th, and I didn't hear from either of them. Does this mean i got defered / rejected?

i apply to Trinity U on EA. I was supposed to receive a decision on 15th.But til now I havent heard of anything. BTW i AM an international applicant.
whats wrong?????

waxon and huashi: Email and regular mail might not have gotten to the right place on time. Don't worry. Call the schools on Monday and ask. I think they're used to it. My e-mail came on 12/8 but to an address that I'd long since stopped using. I never updated my email with Trinity and had to think really hard to remember the old address and password.

huashi and waxon, I think you should email the school. I got my email on the 13th. I am international. This is ofcourse not to get you more anxious than you already are, but to encourage you to call the school. Or atleast send a kind email.

maddy, i got an email from mr eric maloof. He notified me that my decision was deferred to the RD pool because I am an international applicant with demand of lots of FA.

Did u ask for FA?
Does this mean I got no hope any more although Mr. maloof encouraged me that I am highly competitive applicant and my situation was common for internaitonal with FA demands.

oh wow! Well I got merit aid! not financial aid. Luckily it was enough...(17k) Yeah Mr Maloof is really nice. Just bug him a bit on how intereted you are in the merit aid, and Trinity as a whole. (atleast thats what I did).

You STILL have hope! They just want to see how u stand amongst the RD pool. and if you are indeed really competitive that they must have you. Then, be sure to get as much aid as you want.

Maddy_01.... did u submit any other form before you got your merit award? and is the merit award just based purely on eligibilty or do you have to notify them that you are intrested in their merit awards? and if you have to notify them - is it an official process or do you just e-mail Mr maloof? ...

no no no ....ur application for admission is ALSO your application for merit-aid... All I said was to show an interet to Mr. Maloof...

Maddy - if you don't mind my asking.,..what are your stats? Just trying to see if DS has a chance at merit aid...

trust me, anxious mom...It really wasnt my SAT score..lol

Well if u still want to know,
SAT - Math 710, CR 630, W - 640 total - 1980
GPA - 4.9/5.0
Percentile - Top 5%
International (Nigerian)

As I said, i believe it is the whole package (i.e recommendations, essays, interests, and ofcourse ur academic transcripts). Goodluck to ur DS.

Uhm, anyone knows when Trinity sends out EA II decisions? They say by Feb 1, but I'm just too anxious to wait (anyone last year received EA II decision remembers the exact day?)
Thanks in advance.

LOSER...

am also under the edII decision.... I heard they sometimes give the decision a week before i.e if they have made the decision and u call.... and am also anxious too...lol

I got EA I a few days earlier than the date. Check your e-mail !!

it is most likely NOT out yet. since it is jus the 10th of Jan. But i suspect from the 23rd or so...
