so who's actually going to UCSB

I may go to SB. Considering between SD/SB. Anybody have any opinions or suggestions? I'm studying either

Pre-business economics in SB or
Management Science in SD

I want to study business.

tr1p7s, I have the same choice, UCR or SB. I think i might head to SB though. I'm so indecisive so i'm still debating.

UCSB, Notre Dame, Berkeley (spring)

i think ill be at SB though it looks like

I don't know if i want to go to SB..its too far from home (2 hours XD )

same here teenie, and parade, i also think that i'm going to sb cause at the very least, i'll graduate from UCSB which is better known than UCR and that they have a graduate school for teaching

Yeah.
Honestly, i was really aiming for UCI which is closer to home, but i got rejected.
I'm so frustrated that i know someone who has such lower stats than me and she got accepted. :[

i'm soo frustrated.

lol i was also hoping for UCI but got rejected and i just ended a trip there too; left sunday night and stayed in a friends dorm, left this afternoon. it was pretty nice, aldrich park was so... so... amazing i guess. but it was socially dead... mostly cause i wasnt looking for parties and didnt leave campus. but i guess i'll have to make do with UCSB and hopefully transfer out

isnt UCSB now ranked higher than UCI?

ranking is different to everyone, some will find another school exponentially better than another even though the numbers will say otherwise. i just dont like the party reputation that SB is known for thats why i wanted Irvine

yeah same here.
If it weren't for the party rep, i would have considered SB it a lot better.

But i guess ... if my appeal doesn't work, I'm heading to SB.
Maybe i'll see you tr1p7s. :]

Yeah UCI is a school that studies. haha

maybe maybe not^_^ i might be cooped up in my room getting my GE's done so i can transfer out asap XD but i'll decide on that at a later time when i finally get to the campus?

haha. i haven't visited the campus, but i heard from alot of my teachers and friends that its a beautiful campus.

the best of all UCs

Jesus Christ you guys are depressing me with your "I guess I'll have to make do with SB" attitude. So sorry that you got into a beautiful school on the beach with lots of parties. Boo Effing Hoo. I'm choosing UCSB over every other UC other than LA and Berkeley, and you guys cant stop whining about getting into a really nice school. The undergraduate population is in the tens of thousands; I'm sure you'll find plenty of people with similar personalities and interests. I have friends who were rejected from every UC Campus, and are forced to go to crappy state schools. And have you guys actually seen the campus? It's in one of the most beautiful locations in the country, and there's no end to the amount of fun, substance-free activities you can partake in. Why you would want to coop yourself up in a room is beyond me. Grow a pair.

first of all i havent seen the campus, i think i implied that when i said "i'll decide on that at a later time when i finally get to the campus?" and yes i've heard that it is a beautiful campus, but the party reputation isn't me.
the reason i would be in my room is cause i know what i want to do - transfer to my first choice institution which i also mentioned, "in my room getting my GE's done so i can transfer out asap"
and for your information, i already have a pair. perhaps you should learn to read carefully?

I'm only going to UCSB if I don't get into Cal. But I'm excited about the possibility of either school. UCSB ain't bad by any means.

since cal's decisions are already out, i'm assuming you're appealing?

I don't know if you were aware of this, but "grow a pair" is an example of figurative language. It's a rhetorical device that is meant to convey my advice that you should stop being such a p---. Maybe your poor knowledge of syntax has something to do with your rejection from UC Irvine.

I don't want to get in a stupid internet flame war, so I'll give you my advice in more civil terms.
1) Make friends with people who have similar interests and who aren't partiers
2) Take advantage of the educational opportunities that Santa Barbara has to offer
3) Enjoy the beautiful campus; don't stay "cooped up" in your room
4) Get good grades, so if you don't like it you can transfer
5) Don't complain about you're having to attend UCSB on the UCSB forums. It's bad for morale.

tr1p7s: Cal's transfer decisions don't come out until April 30... won't find out until then.

o i see, you're a transfer. keep us updated on how the process is going

If I don't get into UCLA than I'll be going to UCSB.. and if I do get in than it will be a hard decision.. UCLA is a lot more prestigious and UCSB seems like a lot more fun! So its a tough one.. but to be honest I'm leaning more towards SB!
