the only reason why i had doubts about going to SB is because it's kind of far from where I live. 2 hrs. doesn't seem like much but it is. though i know it's an awesome campus and a good school. everyone is telling me to head over there over riverside. plus i don't have to party if i don't want to. it's all about choices. though knowing that a lot of you guys want to go there and study and not party too much it's good to know i won't be the only one. so i'll see all of you there. :]

"Jesus Christ you guys are depressing me with your "I guess I'll have to make do with SB" attitude. So sorry that you got into a beautiful school on the beach with lots of parties. Boo Effing Hoo. I'm choosing UCSB over every other UC other than LA and Berkeley, and you guys cant stop whining about getting into a really nice school. The undergraduate population is in the tens of thousands; I'm sure you'll find plenty of people with similar personalities and interests. I have friends who were rejected from every UC Campus, and are forced to go to crappy state schools. And have you guys actually seen the campus? It's in one of the most beautiful locations in the country, and there's no end to the amount of fun, substance-free activities you can partake in. Why you would want to coop yourself up in a room is beyond me. Grow a pair."

Exactly. EVERY UC is gonna have a party scene, probably about the same as UCSB. Whining about the party school reputation is ignorant. If you don't want to go to the parties, then don't go. It is about as simple as that.

parade, where do you live, what city?

I'm in the 626 area. I'm just taking a guess at how far it is, since i've only been up to Lompoc.

hey i am too ^_^ i go to san gabriel high =DD go matadors

In my case i'd have to say GO Raiders! I think my cousin goes to your HS or Gabrielino. I forgot. :] Anyhow, i need to start checking out the dorms to see which one is best for me.

i like FT substance free hall

My daughter will go on April 12, to visit. She has visited before and likes the campus, but I don't think she will ultimately attend UCSB, unless the visit gives her some new insight, and I am glad that she is giving it a chance.

i think i'm going to sb on friday then again on the 12th

I just sent my statement of intent. Yay UCSB!

FT Substance-Free, LMAO. Oh god ;).

??? please explain?
